Ricky Chu - the drummer of Hong Kong’s celebrity Rock band ‘Tai Chi’ founded Ricky Music Factory (RMF) in 1998.

Over a thousand students have been taught and nourished by RMF in the past 10 and more years. A number of them were able to work at music-related industries and quite a number of pop music tutors were students of RMF. Ricky was the pioneer to introduce drum kit examination of Trinity Guildhall London and popular music examinations of Rockschool UK to Hong Kong back in 2003. This created a whole new music-grading path in the classical music dominated examination scene in Hong Kong. Through these examinations, popular music students in Hong Kong could attain qualifications that were accredited internationally.

RMF is located in Fortress Hill Hong Kong, which occupies 2 storeys with more than 10 studio grade music rooms. We adopt high quality instruments, audio system and sound insulation materials, students could experience the high sound quality of the instruments and avoid the bad influence induced by instruments of poor quality.
Ricky devotes all his time and effort in music education. His vision was to provide professional and systematic way of music teaching to students in Hong Kong. He also wanted to bring a breakthrough to the popular music education of China. His vision was realized when he made a big step forward by opening his first flagship-size popular music school in Guangzhou, China in late-2013.

All tutors of RMF are selected through rigorous skill and teaching requirements. They all have attained professional qualifications in music. To ensure students receive high quality of teaching, we closely monitor the teaching quality and behavior of each tutor.
